Yatra Books is proud to announce a new imprint, Tethys, to expand its scope beyond translation, and delve into relevant issues of global importance.

This imprint was launched with two new international titles, Every Second Counts by Dr William A Haseltine and Voices in Dementia Care by Anna Dirksen and Dr William A Haseltine.

Yatra Team

Namita Gokhale is the director of Yatra Books. She is a well-known writer, publisher and festival director. She has written twelve books, including several works of fiction. Her first novel, ‘Paro: Dreams of Passion’, which created a furor with its candid sexual humour, celebrates its thirtieth anniversary edition in 2014. Other novels include ‘Gods, Graves and Grandmother’, ‘A Himalayan Love Story’, ‘The Book of Shadows’, ‘Shakuntala’ and ‘Priya’, a recent sequel to Paro.Gokhale has worked extensively with Indian myth. She has written ‘The Book of Shiva’ and retold the Mahabharata for young readers. She also co-edited the landmark anthology, ‘In Search of Sita ‘.A founder and co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival and of ‘Mountain Echoes’, the annual Bhutan Festival, Gokhale is committed to showcasing literature from across the Indian languages. She currently curates ‘Kitabnama: Books and Beyond’, a multilingual book show on the national channel Doordarshan.

Neeta Gupta is the publisher at Yatra Books and an editor and Joint Secretary with the Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad, a not-for-profit promoting translations between Indian languages. She is also the Festival co-Director for Jaipur BookMark – a publishers’ B2B segment held parallel to the Jaipur Literature Festival, where the focus is international translation.
Shuchita Mital, Hindi Editor-in-chief, Yatra Books, was earlier on the editorial board of the Malayala Manorama’s Vanitha women’s fortnightly. A member of the Indian Translators Association, she has assisted in editing their quarterly journal, Anuvad. Shuchita is a formidable talent in both literary and academic translations.

meeraMeera Bisht Sub-editor, Yatra Books, is a graduate, with a Sangeet Visharad in Indian Classical Music. Apart from Proof-reading and editing copy, she is also responsible for final checks on CRCs. She has been with Yatra Books since its inception in 2005.
Pallavi-Pic Pallavi Singh is an editor at Yatra Books and also writes on current affairs for a leading Hindi daily on a freelance basis. After completing her masters in Hindi Literature from Delhi University, Pallavi has done a Post Graduate Diploma in translation at the Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad.
su-kumariSukumari Anil is the accounts-in-charge at Yatra Books. After completing her graduation in Economics from The Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, she has also done a Post Graduate Diploma in computer applications. She started her career as a Computer Analyst in CSG International Pvt Ltd, a buying and sourcing company, and worked with them for two decades before joining Yatra Books.
